African Daisies in January
B&W 2026 31/365
I apologize to my friends in parts of the country and the world that are still frozen, but I live in a place where I can walk just down the street from the house and the side of the road is covered with blooming orange and yellow African daisies. Of course I took pictures. Since I’m doing a B&W picture a day project, that the image I’m going to share.
The shadows and highlights were already there in this early morning shot. But there was also enough tonal different between the orange and yellow flowers that I think (hope) that it turned to be a relatively interesting image, even without the colors.
Your turn:
Do you ever find that some subjects are easy when converted to B&W, and some things just don’t work at all?
Til next time,
Todd

Your question is a good one but I don’t have a great answer.
I am impressed you can create such tonal detail and interest with a color image in black and white.
My eye usually wants to see that color but in this image you make it work well.
