Go-To Subjects: Black & White Giants

I apologize, most of our house (including me) isn’t feeling well today, so we’re getting helicopters for our picture. I have a feeling these (and other) aircraft will make appearances several times of the course of this year’s photo project. Much like the cats, and the dog, these are something I have easy access to, and will likely make for an interesting image, even if I’ve already shared helicopter pictures on other past sick days.
I’ve actually ridden on these a few times over the years. The most interesting was in Iraq when we were cruising about as fast as it could go with all the lights off and the back cargo door open. It was summer and we were flying low, right about where the temperature inversion was, so it was still well over 100 degrees at our flight level, even in the middle of the night.

What are you some of your “go to” subjects if you know what want to take a picture, but can’t make yourself put a lot of effort into planning something unique?
