In an alternate universe I would stay up late tonight hitting refresh on the elections result pages along with half the rest of the country.
But for some reason we woke up at 3:30am this morning.
I think there’s a good chance I’ll be asleep before most of the polls even close.
That actually works out well though. I’d rather see the likely more sure results tomorrow morning than watch the play-by-play horse race BS way that most of the “news” will cover things tonight.
For those who do stay up, here’s something to keep in mind:
Once the polls close and the last votes are cast, one candidate will have ALREADY won, and the others will have ALREADY lost.
It’s not a sporting event or a horse race.
No candidate starts out “a little bit ahead” as the first results come in, then “falls behind” as more votes are reported.
The result has already been decided, we just won’t always know exactly what that result is until ALL the votes have been counted.
Telling people that doesn’t make for very exciting television or social media election day coverage …
But taking away the excitement might deprive some celebrity social media political analysts and/or cable tv “news” stars from raking in $$$ on their biggest night of the year.
Can’t have that. 🙄
Til Next time,
