Fresh Snow on the Huachuca Mountains
B&W 2026 8/365
We were socked in with low clouds and steady rain all day yesterday, but I knew that the freezing level had dropped down below 7,000 feet, so this is exactly the scene I was hoping to see when things cleared out a bit this morning.
The lighting was just about perfect, with the sun hitting the very top of the mountain, illuminating the new snow. The few wispy clouds partially obscuring the very peak I think adds to the scene vs. if the sky was already clear.
This shot probably would have worked in color, but I like it in contrasty B&W too.
Going forward, I’m going to give each of these daily images their own post, rather than a weekly update with all seven.
So what do you think?

Til next time,

Pretty majestic, man!
Those mountains owe you a thanks for making them look good!
