I'm Still a Bird Photographer
B&W 2026 16/365
Part of the reason I wanted to do this B&W project was to make myself try to take more interesting landscape and people pictures. But ultimately, the most fun I have with my camera is still attaching a 600mm and going down to the river or up in the mountains to take pictures of birds or other wildlife.
I don’t have to work until this afternoon, so that’s exactly what I did after I dropped the girls at school this morning … I headed for the San Pedro.
It’s not always easy to make wildlife images look good in B&W. But I think the nice contrast produced by the early morning sun in this shot of a female red-winged black bird actually worked pretty well.
Another upside to using this bird image is that it’s from my dSLR. Ideally, when we get to the end of this year, I’d like at least 1/2 the images from this project to have being captured with the Canon camera.
The runner up image today was actually also pretty interesting:
But ultimately it was another shot captured with my Pixel phone.
Your turn:
Do you take pictures with multiple cameras? Do you have a favorite?
Til next time,
Todd

I gave a relative all my camera equipment after our elderly front desk accidently deleted my 15 years worth of SLR photo files long before things like that could be stored properly. I was gutshot and couldnt take pics anymore. But another 15 years have past and phone photography got so amazing its got me inspired. And Animus3 Photography Club now has me feeling like I am ready to dive back in once they invent the 28 hour day, or I get some spare time.
